Kayla was born and raised in the tri-state region and has continued to live and work in the same community throughout her adult life. She obtained her ADN from Ohio University-Southern in 2007 and her BSN from Ohio University in 2016. She then furthered her education by obtaining her MSN in Psychiatry from Walden University and graduated in February 2021. She worked as a critical care registered nurse at King’s Daughters Hospital from 2007 until 2012. She then spent 8 years as an infusion nurse and nurse liaison at Infusion Solutions in Ashland, KY before finding her true passion, psychiatry. She has worked as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner since April 2021, starting as an inpatient provider for a substance use disorder treatment center, before transitioning to her current position here at Shawnee Family Health Care. When she is not at work, you can find her spending time with her husband and four teenage boys or rockhounding.
